St. Louis,MO- mississippi nights
This was a very exciting night for me. See, this was my very first Manson show
ever.
When I heard they were coming to St. Louis, my heart skipped a beat. I could
hardly wait!! This was it. My chance to see Twigs, Pogo, Ginger, Zimmy, and of
course the Rev. himself, in the flesh. A friend of mine was also going and
asked if I had any money for a ticket so he could go get one for me. Since of
course, this WAS Manson, and I just happened to have a $20 bill in my purse, I
immediatly handed him the $20 so at last I could go see what I was missing. So
the 5th rolls around, and I"m literally driving everybody crazy with my
ranting and raving about Marilyn Manson, cuz after all, this WAS my first
Manson show. So I get down to Mississippi Nights and I meet some people that I
went to school with outside the club. Everybody I"m with know that this is my
first show and tells me that i WON'T be disappointed.
There's the usual hustle and bustle outside the club because right across the
street, other people are spending their night having fun at the trendy night-
club that just happens to be straight across from Miss. Nights. So of course,
there's people hanging out of the windows yelling obceneties and rude remarks,
and everybody outside the venue are daring these people to jump out of the
windows. I'm sitting there thinking how funny it would be if one of those
jack-asses actually listened to us and actually jumped. anyways, the doors
finally open and we go in. I get a really good place up by the t-shirt stand
to the left side of the stage with my friends. N.Y. Loose comes out and does
the opening. They were ok, but Manson was who I really wanted to see. The lead
singer from N.Y. Loose keeps teasing us by saying "any minute now, the Rev.
will be coming thru that door" and I"m sitting there going "well come OUT
already!!!" I was very anxious. After Loose leaves, the roadies set up
Manson's stage set and FINALLY(!!!), they come out, one by one. I got a
perfect view of the band. I was closest to Zim and Pogo, which is cool cuz
they're my fav out of the band(well zim WAS one of my favs, until i found out
he left just a few days ago =( ). They started the set with Angel With The
Scabbed Wings. I couldn't believe it!!! There they were!!! Right in front of
me!!! Needless to say, it was an amazing show, especially since Zim would
stare at me every now and then ;) My friends were totally right. I wasn't
disappointed with their performance, and i can't wait to see them again.
here's part of the set list. it isnt exactly complete, though.
since the concert was 2 years ago, i dont remember all the songs that
they played, but here are the ones i remember. also, they arent in order:
angel with the scabbed wings
lunchbox
get your gunn
the reflecting god
cryptorchid
the beautiful people
dried up, tied up, and dead to the world
dogma
