Okay, originally, we had elected Sara to tell the list about the Iowa show, but she hasn't yet, and I've got some free time, so I thought I'd do it myself:

In a sentence, a day that started out as a disaster turned into one of the most incredible nights of my life. First of all, as I told the list on Friday, we were stuck at U of C cause Sara got her ticket and Darke One was on a conference call. We didn't head for the show until 5, and then we had to face a lot of construction and traffic heading out of Chicago. Once we got out of the metropolitian area, driving was OK.

We arrived at the Colonial Ballroom just after 9:00, an hour after the show had started. I went in while Sara and Darke One went to park the car. Then I got in trouble with security...they inspected me thoroughly and decided I had to take off the chain around my waist, because it could be used as a weapon (?) And I just thought "What the fuck?!" cause it was just a regular chain. They let me bring it in on the condition that I put it in my coat pocket and check in my coat. At least they let me wear my leather collar.

So anyway, I wait a few minutes for the others, and right after they arrived, the show started! It was really really cool! They didn't have their whole stage setup with the podium and everything, but they had the snow and the organ, and the banners...the songs they played (this may not be exact order) were:

angel with the scabbed wings
get your gunn
dogma
dried up, tied and dead to the world
tourniquet
lunchbox
sweet dreams (crowd went nuts for this of course)
irresponsible hate anthem
little horn
cryptorchid
antichrist superstar
the minute of decay
the beautiful ppl
the reflecting god
1996

1st encore:
cake and sodomy
misery machine

2nd encore:
man that you fear

The audience of course wasn't really into the new material, just kinda standing there. People were kind of getting into Irresponsible Hate Anthem though. And they were also probably the dumbest audience I'd ever seen at a concert. After the 2nd encore, the lights went on, roadies came onstage and started taking equipment, and ppl are shouting "Play another encore!" It ain't gonna happen...

So, we all got separated during the show, and we met up afterwards. Darke One introduced us to his brother, Justin aka The Great Hoodoo...he's pretty cool. So we're standing on the back of the main floor, talking, when Sara says to me "Is that Ginger on stage?" and I looked but I couldn't tell. So, we decided to go over to the stage and check it out, and sure enough, there was Ginger!! So we yelled "Hey, Ginger" and he came down and started talking to us!!! It was soooo cool!! We got to see the scar on his head from Nothing Nite, and we chatted for a few minutes about tour dates and stuff...then some other ppl wanted to talk to him, so we said goodbye to him...he's really nice :)

Then we all went outside, and there's a bunch of ppl out there who want to go over by the buses and wait for MM to come out, but the security guards said they had to stay back on the sidewalk. They then told everyone the band was doing a meet and greet at this club called Off Limits, and told everyone they had to leave. Most ppl left, but we stayed and some other ppl stayed around too, but not many. Anyway, some ppl had managed to get by the bus and Zim Zum was out there, talking to them, and we were trying to think of a way to get him to come over by us. We stood out there for about 45 minutes. Finally, I guess Zim Zum saw us standing there, and came over to talk to us! Darke One asked if he had been the guitar player in LSD, and he said he had, but left before the album was recorded. So we spent a couple minutes talking...btw, Zim Zum rules :) He's replaced Twiggy as my fave member of MM. We got autographs, took pictures...I gave him a hug...he's very cuddly

And then we were all allowed to go over by the bus and see the other band members. The Rev. came out, and so did Twiggy, wearing a black shirt and pants (no dress!) and eating a slice of pizza...they signed autographs, talked, posed for pictures...Sara gave the Rev. her parody of Irresponsible Hate Anthem and he liked it :) Then, they all got on the bus, and head to Off Limits. We got in the car, and followed them, along with six or seven other cars.

Off Limits turned out to be a teenybopper club...13 year olds bouncing around to "More Human Than Human..." I felt so old! Anyway, the band came in, and (I didn't see this but Darke One did) a girl spit in the Rev.'s face, he got REALLY pissed off, threatened to kill her, and had to be restrained, and the band promptly left. And, after learning what happened, so did we.

We got back in the car, and followed the bus through the Quad Cities. For a while, they just drove around, trying to lose all the ppl who were following them, but I think they only lost NY Loose! Anyway, they finally stopped at this bar called the Yankee Clipper. The Rev. was in better spirits at this point...actually smiling :) So, the band was all standing outside, we got out and joined them, as did a few other ppl. Then, the band went in the bar, and everyone followed them.

So here we are, in a dive in the Quad Cities, hanging out with MM!!!! It was so cool! Sara and I sat with Pogo and we talked for a bit...she'll probably elaborate more on this when she posts...and the Rev. was sitting a few feet away with these girls. He liked Darke One's list shirt (it does look cool...I wish I had gotten one!) and they were just drinking, smoking, and chilling out. I was so happy, I just had the biggest smile on my face. After a while, we decided to leave the band alone so they could relax, and we left.
