Well i guess im a little LATE 'eh sibs? and to think, Sara and *j* thought
*i* would get in the 1st review! anyways, i know some of you want to know a
bit more about the show besides "it fucking rawked!" (although we knew it'd
frustrate some of you! =P ) so i am fully prepared to give away some more
info ok?
First let me start off by saying PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO BE
SURPRISED WHEN YOU SEE THEM! i mean i wouldnt read it if i hadnt seen em!
like j said, "it was like opening yer gifts on xmas morning"...except to me
it was opening yer gifts, getting everything you wanted/were waiting for
and then getting 1000 things you didnt even know you wanted! yes, it was/is
really THAT amazing.
ok, now that you've been warned...i have to add something else. j posted
this as the set list:
1. angel w/the scabbed wings 2. get your gunn 3. dogma
4. dried up tied up & dead to the world 5. tourniquiet
6. sweet dreams 7. Irr. Hate Anthem 8. lunchbox 9. Minute of Decay 10.
little horn 11. crypt orchid 12. ACS 13. The Reflecting God 14. 1996 15.
The beautiful ppl 16. cake & sodomy 17. misery machine 18. Man that you
fear
Now this is NOT in the correct order...we were trying to remember the
correct order but this is not right. The order we wrote down after the show
was different so i will now write down the OTHER order we wrote down right
after the show!
(for soundcheck if anyone cares)
Dried up... and the reflecting god.
-----
let me remind you, this order is not also correct but the most accurate one
yer gonna get!
1. angel with scabbed wings, 2. get your gunn, 3. dogma, 4. dried up..., 5.
little horn, 6. cryptorchid, 7. acs, 8. the beautiful people, 9.
irresponsible hate anthem, 10. sweet dreams, 11. tourniquet, 12. lunchbox,
13. the reflecting god, 14. 1996, 15. minute of decay, 16. cake and sodomy,
17. misery machine, 19. man that you fear.
ok now i noticed a LOT of you guys COMPLAINING that yer favorite POAAF
songs werent played! let me remind you, this is NOT the solid set list for
thee ENTIRE tour. you MAY get to hear yer favorite songs. but, i will agree
with j again when i say i wasnt even excited to hear cake and sodomy again
and i was a bit tired of the misery machine encore. i was just so excited
to hear all this great new material i didnt even care. and they can play
whatever the hell they want. and if you had been playing a song for 6 or 7
years, wouldnt you drop it from yer list if you were sick of it? if i were
manson some of my songs would've been gone a while ago! but you should be
happy with what you get. if you don't hear it at one show, you can always
hear it at another one! =)
anyways, there were a few songs i wanted to hear, but i will hopefully hear
them at the shows i attend in 2 weeks. "kinderfeld", "mister superstar",
"deformography", and "wormboy"...esp. wormboy i hope to hear. im not trying
to piss off my fellow spooks but don't let the fact that they didnt play
one or two songs ruin the fact that they played so many more good ones.
dont let it blind yer view of what you've got. "the blind have now become
my deaf so say the little horn"...
now, you wanted more details, so here we go.
<>
let me 1st describe the stage set up. ginger and pogo (with his shiny
lovely new kick ass fully piped organ!) are on platforms in the back a bit
higher than everyone else. twiggy is on his usual side (the left when
looking at the stage) and zim zum took daisy's old spot(the right looking
at the stage). manson entered the stage from the back, in between ginger
and pogo doing his usual crucifix position decked out in the basic outfit
he wore for "the beautiful people" video. the outfit i mean is the creamy
colored glove thingys and the white tights and buckled boots. their
backdrop was unveiled and it is amazing. wow. it is so beautiful. theres a
stainglass window with two angels on it and, from what i can remember, a
man being stepped on, and then underneath and on the sides are about 4 or 5
impaled angels. really nicely done and very beautiful.they played a few
songs and he eventually took off parts of his outfit so he only had on his
little vinyl g(which was covered by some sort of white underwear flap) and
some shredded tights. when they played "cryptorchid" everyone exited the
stage...manson came back and the light was on his microphone and tons of
fake snow began to fall...it was really beautiful. after that song, the
lights went out...you could hear the roadies scattering about and when the
lights came back on there was a tall, large podium where manson's mic stand
SHOULD be. it had a HUGE lightning bolt logo on it and the backdrop was
covered up and about 4 or 5 banners also with large lightning bolt logos
were dropped. twiggy, pogo, zim zum, and ginger all came back out dressed
in all black with these shiny silver helmets on and manson came out with
his red shirt and black suit on and stood up on the podium and snow began
to fall again and they played "ACS" and manson was throwing up his fist in
sync with the screaming people. much fun. the crowd loved it. (my camera
was taken away then so i missed this spectacle on film =( manson was prolly
eating it up when the guy beside me began bowing to him. and manson, with
his big ego (heh..) was taking it to the max with these songs. he would
blow kisses to the audience and whatnot. very cute though. after a while
the snow stopped (that stuff is very toxic. made me cough a LOT!) and they
played "the beautiful people" and everyone exited the stage again and took
off their helmets and black coats and he podium was taken away and manson
came back with his red shirt on unbuttoned and black pants. after a while
the banners were covered by the backdrop and manson was out of his pants
and shirt and back into his shredded hose. ummm...everythin was pretty
straight forward...manson did play guitar on about 3 or 4 songs. i know he
played for SURE on "minute of decay" but i can't remember the others.
ok...im not done yet. encore time. they played the "c&s"/"mm" encore and
then...for the FINAL encore they brought out a mic stand covered in corn
stalks. manson came out in his shredded pantyhose but he was covered in
blood. not real blood but it was supposed to be blood. you couldnt see him
too well because the strob was flashing about every 5 seconds and that was
the only source of light. very amazing. it was so beautiful and everything
i hoped it would be and much much more! and manson didnt have his infamous
cube but...on either side of the stage were cube speakers and he would
stand on those once in a while. now, The State Theatre had a pretty high
ceiling and was kinda big but if yer seeing them at a smaller place, you
may not have the backdrops and stuff. i mean when you see the SIZE of this
angel backdrop...it is HUGE. it was even showing on either side of the
curtain because it was so big. it was great fun.
and they do go on and off stage a lot. i swear i was prolly thinking one
thing was the encore and then there were like 10 songs to go.
remember their show isnt going to be exactly the same all the time. but i
just cant wait to see em again! thats all the typing chicken is doing for
now! laterzzzzzz
