Um - I thought Id post just a coupla things about teh Palo Alto and SF
shows. I have NO IDEA why he dropped he just did - plummeted to the
ground druing Lunchbox. All I know is it must have been good because the
songs he played after that were THE BEST of the 3 shows I hads seen. He
put TONS into them- during sweet dreams he was hitting himself on the
head with the mic and screaming and growling in really weird ways. Rock
n rollnigger was always thew best tho they didnt play it at the SF show.
I must say that MM fands are about teh most fanatical I have been with..
but at a live show this tended to make for annoying attitudes such as WAY
too many crowdsurfers - I cant count how many ppl I had to bring down at
the Palo Alto show - Sf was cool tho. Another interesting thing
happenned - I dont remember which song it was during but he was perched
on a speaker and flipping eVERYONE off repeateldy - which the crowd did
right back. I dont know about you but any power the middle finger as a
symbol of defianced used to have is now gone for me. Its seen all the
time - its boring, trirte and overused. Sorry but I have beenb top too
many cocnerts where the crowd is covered with ppl holding satan signs and
middle fingers up all the tiem and it just seems well dumb now. I kinda
wanted to communicate this to the rev and since im not the tourbus kinda
guy I thought Id have to do it nonverbally. SO whiile the flipoff fest
was happening I stood in my lil place ot the side of the stage and just
held aloft the sign language sign for I LOVE YOU. I figured when a
middle finger is old and boring and ppl act like hate is soooooo cool
maybe Love woudl be defiant in this context. Sure enugh a couple seconds
later his eyes turn RIGHT on me and stay there for quite a while - my
friend picked uop on this too - it was kinda cool that he noticed.
What else to say - I d have to say that the Palo Alto show was
best peroframnce wise but SF had the coolest crowd. I personally have no
problme with spitting on the Rev - I have no explanation why but I find
it fun to spit upon a singer who spits at ther crowd - go figure. Um =-
Palo Alto they had nothing but the OUIJA board - no marionettes or
anything like that. Neither Palo Alto or sf did he wear the stilts.
I must say taht tho I love the band I was abit dissapointed
with my experience of seeing them 3 times in a row. We were promised
surprises of sex and violence and not neccessarily in that order - WHERE
WERE THEY? All three shows were the exact same - same clothes same
makeup (expect fore the SF show Mr Manson wrote stuff liek whore, slut,
and fag on his stomach and chest in lipstick) same song list. The only
thing at changed each night was these words that Madonna had on hsi
keyboards - they were green stickers with black words. First night it
said CUNTKEYS, 2nd night it said GAYASFUCK, 3rd night it said
CUNTCHEESE. Thats about all the variety there was tho.. I now this is
how most bads are Clutch was the same and im not giving them shit about
it. But as we all know MM is a cut above the rest and I expect more when
I see them - maybe Ive been spoiled by some other bands but I wehn I go
to see MM iwant to feel a sense of unease - a sense that ANYTHING may
happen - instead I knew exatly what to expect. THey used ot do wild
shows with naked women and kids in cages - now he cuts himself and its a
TENNY little cut.. Dint get me wrong I love them but they are capable of
more and that frustrates me. I just miss the sense of "oh fuck whatll
happen tonight" that I get with a couple other bands - tho they are VERY
few and far between.
Not saying that you shodulnt go see them - they are great - they
coudl just do better..
