well, i got there around 4, met up w/spooks, the usual on-line
going-ons...quite fun. we were at the front of the line, so when the
doors opened, we got the spot right at the barrier, center-stage.
security was quite nice and the barrier was padded, so i was happy. and
there i stayed all through the ny loose set. they did 'i wanna be yr dog'
during which the grl from white zombie joined them. i loved them, but i
think they were better when i saw them with dgeneration, about 1 1/2
years ago -- they were more 'punky' they didn't play as well, so it was
just more fun. they still rule and bridgette is extremely cute.
right b4 manson came on the crowd started to get bad.
somedrunk-off-her-ass-bitch standing behind sarah (who was behind me)
pushed her hand, equipped with a studded bracelet under my arm and onto
the barrier. she kept babbling about being friends with 'the boys', all
the while cutting me up w/her fucking bracelet.
i'm short, so my chest was crushed against the barrier and i couldn't get
any air in, i was almost passing out. so regina asked the security guards
to pull me out. these were the nicest security ppl i've ever seen. they
helped me and asked if i was alright. when the crowdserfers came, they
just pulled them out and dropped them on the floor!
so i got out of the crowd -- and i'm glad i did! i found a spot on one of
the couches and i could see manson and zim PERFECTLY. manson set was
intense. they did lunchbox -- i don't remember whether or not they did it
on the other shows this tour...the podium, the bible ripping, the kisses.
the rev, however, didn't seem into it -- he said the exact same things
he said all along -- 'catering to the mtv crowd', 'break the barrier',
'beautiful ppl' etc....he seemed into the music, but not into the crowd
-- no surprises there. they did whatever he told them to. chanted 'we
hate love' -- what a bunch of idiots.
when he mentioned the halloween show, the grl next to me screamed 'are
you going to kill yrself? please kill yrself!" she screamed 'kill yrself'
again later on in the show. i have to say, the audience ruined this show
for me. i didn't know it will go that far. it was a herd, not a group of
individuals, but a herd. the very scary moment for me was when during acs
the whole audience screamed 'hail' and pumped their hands in a very
nazi-like salute. i was looking over the audience and all i saw was a sea
of hands -- just like in a nazi films. very scary.
they ended w/ man that you fear. the stage was completely dark, with an
occasional spotlite on the rev. musically, they seem to be getting better
and better with every time i see them. i don't get to see them that often
-- twice on the small club tour w/mvm, twice on the slc tour, nothing
nite, then yesterday, so their progression is very obvious to me...
