The melbourne gig got so f*cked up. idiots everywhere. so many people put in heaps of effort to come from all over australia to see Manson only to have the gig wrecked by stupid f*cks who only turned up to hurl shit at the band and lay their macho insecurities into innocent peoples sculls. i mean, SHIT! there were people walking around holding ice packs to throbbing black mountainous lumps on their heads! i have put myself in full on mosh pits heaps of times, i've had people fall on top of me and had my face buried in mud, but tonight i thought i was going to die. i was in the front row, and as soon as the band came on i was so crushed i didn't even need to stand on my own feet. the bouncers (who were so cool. we have the best!) gave us a bit of a safety lecture, *press your right thigh against the barrier and keep your left leg back*. it didn't work. it was so violent even the barrier was being pushed forward! Angel with the scabbed wings was the first song and within the first minute i was being pulled out. in the course of being pulled out i passed out twice ( well everything went black twice!)and when i finally collapsed onto the floor the first thing i saw was Twiggy looking down at me. i won't forget that. whether he was actually concerned or whether he thought i was a pussy, i'll never know, but it was cool. i was the first to go but by the third song nearly every person in the front row was out of there. everyone i spoke to that went though the same thing said they'd never felt so scared or in so much pain before. and this was coming from people who saw NIN at *alternative nation* with 30,000 people behind them! no-one could pay attention to what was going on on stage and we are all so pissed off!!!!!! and for the most part the guys looked worse off than the girls! this probably sounds really pathetic, not being able to handle it and all, but shit, as i said, people were scared! one guy came up to me after he was pulled out from nearly being knocked out by a stupid bastard who admitted to only being there to give the band shit. he asked me if i was ok. he said (apparently) i was screaming and stuff and people thought i'd broken something (i don't remember this), but all i suffered is a bloodied arm and a real cool top that had to be cut off me cos i couldn't feel any pain till i went to take my top off a few hours later and it was *glued* to my arm. lovely! 14(?) songs were played in sydney but only about 5 or 6 in melbourne. when Mr.Manson smashed the second wine bottle (melbourne) some glass hit a girl in the eye and i think it was pretty bad. she was bleeding profusely (if my spelling sucks it's cos i'm still shaking and it 2 1/2 hours sine the gig)and everyone who saw it said it was so bad she'd probably sue. i'm so glad a piece of his guitar only hit and cut my cheek!(that happened in sydney). no one really knows why the gig ended so abruptly, it could have been cos of the girl being injured, the amount of people being hurt or apparently Manson was hurling his mic stand at Ginger more than once and some say it looked as though Ginger got it in the head pretty bad. All i know is that i'm not in a hospital bed because of some f*ck and i had the most brilliant time going crazy surrounded by true fans and fellow *rescued ones*, away from the rednecks in the pit. i think the band were happier with the initial response in melbourne than in sydney as mr. manson proclaimed something along the lines of *you guys aren't pussies like in sydney*. But in sydney's defence, we were forced to stay in our designated seats and we didn't have to combat a large group of idiots. only the true fans were out in force in sydney and the band shouldn't put down those who came out to see them there. regardless of what happened in melbourne, i really love the band more than ever. i'm so glad they toured here and i'd travel a million miles to see them live. and that's not just a figure of speach. i just feel sad for all the sydney fans that drove 10 hours non stop to melbourne for less than half a show.and the tassie fans as well who didn't even get to sydney to see the complete show. no-one blames the band for what happened. but we'd really like to know what caused the show to end so abruptly.ps: the above injuries to the girl and ginger is only what i heard from numerous people. so if it is actually incorrect, i'd like to know what happened! sorry for blabbing on and boring some of you but it was so insane i'm still shaking and i had to get it out somehow!! i feel a bit better now.
