Well, first off let me say that if I *ever* think about going to a
show in Tallie at "The Moon" again, just shoot me. The security
was a bunch of assholes. The place was like a lock-down. And I
doubt that they sold more than about half the tickets. I guess that
MM just isn't what's up in Tallahassee. Most of the people at the show
looked like they were just out and weren't even aquainted with the band
or music... Crowd sucked, venue sucked...
MM was great of course! The first song, they had some sound problems
and it had me worried, but they seemed to get them straightened out in
fairly short order. The Rev was in good form. Didn't seem drained from
illness at all. Played well! During "My Monkey," there were some
shenanigans... The song went on for about 10 minutes while the Rev raised
a little hell, including but not limited to taking Twig's bass away from
him and "playing" it himself while Twig looked on. For a lil' bit Twig just
looked confused and helpless, but then he grabbed the mic and huddled in the
corner chanting something that no one could understand. When he got his
bass back it looked as though it had been fucked, because he couldn't play
it. He just kinda fiddled with it and then at the end of the song had to
get another one. At no point in the show did the Rev call to be spit on.
He still got it from a few, but never asked for it, like at previous shows.
I wondered if it had anything to do with his being sick lately... Everyone
seemd kinda, I don't know... aloof. There didn't seem to be a "feel-good"
mood on the stage. Twig seemed in good humor, but just played and drooled
all over himself and his new dress. Lil' solid black one... At the end of
the show, for the encore they played Sweet Dreams which went well and then
went into Misery Machine. The show did *not* end well... When they got
towards the mid of the song(MisMachine), the Rev took his mic stand and
began beating the *shit* out of poor Ginger's drums, while he was playing
them. Ginger kept on playing, though I'm not sure how, as the Rev had them
all fucked up. When they got to the interlude of the song(beep beep part),
Ginger just stood up and looked at the drums which were beyond playing now.
Twig, Pogo and Daisy just looked at him(Ginger), while the Rev left the
stage. Ginger picked up his sticks and looked like he was about to sit back
down and try to finish the song, but couldn't. I swear, it was so sad,
because he looked so upset and *frustrated* that I think he almost cried. I
know it sounds odd, but I think that if he hadn't left the stage he
would've... After Ginger sulked offstage the rest of the boys dropped their
instrumenst and left us with resounding feed-back... The security started
kickin' everyone out and I realized that my watch had been torn off
somewhere. That sucked. We got to the show late, so I hadn't been able to
get with any of the boys before the show to give them an invite to The Farm,
so I lurked about afterwards. Just when all looked about lost, this
roadcrew fella came out back, where myself and one other guy were standing,
and gave me all of Ginger's drumheads. I gave my fellow groupie two. I
gave him the envelope with the invite in it to him and he swore that he
would do his best to get it to *someone* in the band... Then a minute later
*Ginger* came out. He's so sweet. I just wanted to take him home with
me!!! I got to meet him and felt like a dork for having just minutes ago
giving the roadguy the invite, when here was Ginger! I told Ginger all
about it(the invite) and he promised that he would seek it out and read it.
I hope that he was able to find it, I doubted that he took it very
seriously though. The mission of finding it, that is. I hope that he did
though, because the invite was made from picts. The outside of the card was
the closeup of my face and the inside was the one with me handcuffed on the
floor. I know it sounds kinda dorky, but it really was nicely done... I
told him that he had to find the invite because the picts were for him to
keep. He just smiled and said "okay, I'll see if I can find it."
He was soooooo adorable! I felt so badly that he had looked so upset after
the Rev fucked his drums up so badly...
Among new songs, they played Tourniquet and Irr. Hate Anthem. The show
seemed to go by pretty quickly though. And I have to say this. I know that
it's gonna sound goofy(I felt like a total groupie all night!), but I know
that at many points through out the performance, the Rev was singing to me.
I mean I just couldn't miss that stare... And I just smiled and stared back
each time he did!<> It's foolish, but I hope that he gets a hold of
that invite and recognizes me. I was dressed and made up the same at the
show as I was in the picts.
I got catcalls from security, more than a few stares and a few compliments.
I also scared the two ladies working the window at the the Taco Bell nearby!
It was fun... But I must say that at "Simbos' Auto Truck Stop in Bonifay
FL, I thought that I was gonna die. Here I was all made up and wearing a
shirt that says "Everlasting Cocksucker," and surrounded by truckers who
liked like they didn't find me one bit amusing. I'll probs be the talk of
that place for a while!<> We almost stopped there on the way back,
when I was still dressed up from the show, but I wasn't feeling lucky enough
to risk that kinda harm!
So that was my Wednesday evening with the Manson Boys!
Ginger was SOOOOOOOOOO wonderful!!!
I put RSVP with my # and snailmail addie in the invite, so maybe I'll at
least get a "fuck off" to give me assurance that it was gotten by the
boys... I'll let you know!
Have Fun!
Bya.
