After traveling 6 hours to get to Wisconsin from Iowa I was so happy to see the lights of LaCrosse. It's funny but I could feel it in the air that Marilyn Manson was in town...it's just that there's always this feeling throughout the town. My friends and I went to the LaCrosse Center as soon as we got into town in order to check it out. There was this junior high dance going on there so we went inside to see the size of the place. All of a sudden the lights went out and we heard sirens outside. This little junior high kid went running past us and said, "I betcha Marilyn Manson did it." And my friend said, "I betcha he didn't." The little kid just looked at us and was totally afraid because we all had makeup on and dog collars. He didn't bother to argue with us after that. We just went back to the hotel and played Manson for the rest of the night cuz we were all too pumped up to do anything else.
The next day we went to the mall and got our tickets. At the mall we had our makeup on and was just gonna hang there before the concert. Everyone was staring at us and yelling for us to wash that shit off our faces. So what if we had it on? It's just makeup! Then it began to pour outside...and I mean POUR! We left to go to the Center because it was about time for the concert. A lot of people were standing outside and were soaked! Then we were allowed to go inside and we just hung out until New York Loose got onto stage. They were great and got us all excited for the concert. Then Marilyn Manson got onto stage. When they did get on stage, all the energy everyone was holding inside exploded and a mad rush for the stage happened. They opened with Angel with Scabbed Wings and my first thought was, "Boy is Manson beautiful." He had a glass background and just was beautiful on stage. I don't know the exact order of the concert cuz all concerts blur together with me, but they played Sucked For Your Solution and Apple of Sodom, which was great. But the best song was Kinderfeld cuz Manson came on with stilts :) I kept thinking, "Hon, don't fall cuz you just had an injury." But he was so graceful and beautiful. Twiggy was having some problems with fans spitting on him so he took a water bottle and splashed everyone while shaking his fists. It was really cute. During Cake & Sodomy Manson stripped out of his tux and got his foot stuck in his pant leg. He kept singing the song but didn't get the pants off until the end of the song. He took his mic stand and started to pound the stage with it until it was off of his foot. They closed with Man That You Fear and the whole crowd got wrapped up in Manson's emotions. It was so beautiful how he sang it. Then the band gradually got off the stage and Zim Zum was the last one off. My friend yelled, "Zim Zum" as he was going off and Zim Zum turned around and put his finger up to his mouth and jestered him to be quiet...it was so cute and my friend was the happiest person alive.
We went to wait outside the buses after the show and got to see the whole band come out. They didn't give any autographs, but me just seeing them is good enough cuz Manson looked very suave coming out and Pogo was beautiful. Some chick behind me was obsessed with Twiggy and asked if he came out and I said, "No, but Pogo has..." She says, "Who's Pogo?" I swear I was gonna explode into laughter right then cuz who could not know Pogo?? Twiggy just walked with his head down and Zim Zum waved to the crowd. Ginger didn't wave or anything...he is rather shy. That was my lovely concert experience. I was so glad that I went and traveled 6 hours to go to the concert cuz it was definitely worth the trip to go see them.
