Wow, what an interesting show.
We got there about 2, and the show started at 7, in hopes of catching a
glimpse of them...and we were lucky enough (or un-lucky enough) to see
then drive off in a shiny green car to get something to eat...they did
wave, but didn't stop...
After a few hours of fruitless waiting, we got into line at 5:30,
surrounded by beefy Danzig fans. We noticed a hubub waaaaaaay over by
the far corner of the building, and it was Daisy, signing autographs and
taking pictures:) We went over there just as he was leaving, but we get
to meet the singer and the other guy with the dreds (sorry, dont
rmeember what he played) from Korn. We got back in line and they started
to let us in...and i succesfully snuck in my little tape recorder so we
could perhaps have a copy of the show:)
What i didnt count on was that I'd be RIGHT in front, against the barrier,
and right in the center too...Korn came on, and I did enjoy their set.
Couldnt hear the singer too well, but he was definitely interesting to watch.
When MM came on, starting with "Cake and Sodomy" (of course) i turned on
my tape player, and got through the first two songs before the bouncer
saw the little green light and smashed my tape and batteries *sob*:( [NOTE:
if someone does plan on bootlegging a show, stand in back, cos you get
better sound anyhow, and no one will notice you...]
The rest of the show was incredible, as usual...and the whole band was
just pumped, dancing around and making all sorts of silly faces. Madonna
looked especially evil, as he had shaved his real eyebrows off and drew
some on, they were practically pointing straight up. He also had a
new-looking keyboard, wih a scrawled message taped on it that said "DIE! you
dumb cunt":)
When they were almost through with "Lunchbox" Mr. Manson was just kinda
sitting right in front of us, making those *faces*...and we started waving
at him to come forward, and he smiled real big and LEAPED into the
crowd. He was tossed around for a while, and then pushed back
onstage...and as he tried to grab the mike, he hit himself in the eye
(the one with the blue contact in) and fell over. He sang the last few
lines of "lunchbox" curled up on his side, and then dropped the mike and
passed out. The roadies carried him offstage, the house lights went up,
the band walked off...the end...:(
We went outside, since we werent interested in seeing Danzig, and ran
into Daisy again. He talked to us for a little bit, and told us Mr. Manson
was ok, and had a nasty black eye. After the usual picture-taking-autograph-
signing, he went back inside and we walked to
the front of the place, where we ran into Twiggy (my FAVORITE:) *blush)
We did the same...talking, pictures, autographs, and a lot of goofing
around...we talked to him for close to 15-20 minutes...he had remembered
meeting me at all the other MM shows, which surprised me:) We asked him
about Sara Lee, and he said that when MrManson set the drum set on fire 2
nites before their last headlining date (somewhat accidentally) Sara Lee got
pissed and QUIT the band ( Twiggy said SL was pissed cos he was almost on
fire too.)
After Twiggy went back inside, we ran into Ginger, the new drummer, who
is *extremely* cool, but kinda shy compared to Twiggy and Daisy. For
those of you who havent seen him, he's kinda short, has dreds on top of
his head, not like Twiggys...kinda in a ponytail...and most of em are
whiteblonde, but some are black. He's cute (of course) and talks kinda
funny...he also told me his name was Pogo...whatever that means:) If
anyone cares...(heh) he doesnt do any drugs, except a little pot...
By this time, Danzig was just about through, so we went back to the tour
bus area where they had roped off a little area for fans to wait for the
bands. As we walked back, we saw MrManson:) He was wearing sunglasses,
but he showed me his eye when no one was looking...and it was
terrible....all swollen shut and well on its way to turning purple. He
was very very quiet adn almost sullen...which is way opposite from all
the otehr times I've met him. He talked a little bit about David Lynch
movies and these Freddy Krueger dreams he had been having, and then *pow*
a milllion Danzig fans descended on teh area, and we left.
Sorry this ran a little long...but, it was indeed an interesting show:)
