The November 7 New Orleans show was by far the coolest thing i've ever seen in my life. We pulled up to the State Palace Theatre about 30 minutes before showtime. Playing in the opposite theatre was a Victor/Victoria, the musical, so the people walking around New Orleans varied greatly. The theatre couldnt have fit more than 3000 or 4000 people, because it was smaller than the show i went to in minnesota, and that was 4500. It was general admission and i had the third show behind the pit, about 30 feet away from the stage. First came 12 Rounds: since i had seen them earlier, i guess i had a little more appreciation for their music. Nevertheless, i was still eager to see manson. So they did their set; not bad. Manson comes on about 9 pm. They played these songs, not sure of the order
The Reflecting God: Great performance. Changed the chorus again. On of my favorites.
Great Big White World: Pretty cool song, done great live
Cake and Sodomy: Crowd fave. Still great
Posthuman: energetic, great live even though it's not one of my favorites.
Mechanical Animals: Used stilts, nicely done.
Sweet Dreams: for some reason, they played this one in the beginning of the set for a change. complete with crowd sing-along.
Rock Is Dead: Anthemic song, lots of energy live.
Dope Show: Another crowd favorite. "The drugs, they say, are made in New Orleans"
Speed of Pain: Fake snow, good change of tempo for the show
Lunchbox: classic oldie, I think it was during this song he showed his asshole
User Friendly: 2 backup singers came out and danced through the song.
Rock n Roll Nigger: good performance. one of my faves.
I Don't Like The Drugs: Big DRUGS sign like always, did a little speech before pretending to be a preacher
AntiChrist Superstar: Highlight of the show for me, podium, preacher scene, shock symbols, and bible tearing. Fun for the whole family.
Beautiful People: Great song, what more can be said?
No encore, the shock symbol flag came down as if irresponsible hate anthem was going to be played. but it didnt happen. it was an awesome show, the dark mood of new orleans added to it. I cant wait to see him again
