The show at the Continental Airlines Arena (home of the Jersey Devils...get it, the Devils? haha) in East Rutherford NJ was certainly extremely impressive. I'll keep this brief since basically the set list was the same, the set design and costuming were the same, and the speeches were the same.
Nashville Pussy...they were ok. The two women making out was about as talented as they seemed to get. Well, thats a harsh statement; I just personally could not get into them, but the crowd that was there seemed to give them a positive response.
Monster Magnet was GREAT. Even better than I expected, and honestly I am not familiar with their newer stuff, and despite the fact that they only played one old song, their set was AMAZING. The music is really really good and Dave just has an excellent stage presence; he knows how to get the crowd pumping. I'm really glad that they stayed on the tour--definately more worth seeing than Hole. And the strippers they brought out during "Spacelord" was a nice touch, and I'm a straight female saying that, hehe.
Marilyn Manson was of course spectacular. I was more impressed than I thought I would be...they just really had it going on. The music was right on, Manson's singing was really good, the set and the special effects were remarkable, and the crowd was energized. I was honestly amazed that Manson's singing has gotten so much better. Some interesting points: Manson kept picking his nose and flinging boogers and snot rockets at the crowd. And of course there were people in the crowd who ate it right up...probably even literally. I was in the VIP Pit (what they called the pit right in front of the stage--they had 2 pits in this place, I'm not sure if thats what they normally do), and it wasn't as rough as I thought it would be. There was a nice energy and it had its 'survival of the fittest' moments, but I was worried about nothing.
The 'blood' that was shot into the audience when Manson gets shot by the cop was all over me. It tasted good. Plus it made the crowd around me look particularly eerie.
At the end of one of the songs--i'm pretty sure it was Antichrist Superstar but i could be wrong--Manson actually burned the American flag on stage after he pranced around wearing it.
All in all, by the end of the night, I had heard some great music, seen every single part of the male and female anatomy, saw some lesbians making out, watched some strippers, saw some guys pretending to perform fellatio (Manson and Twiggy), got covered in water and then in fake blood, got pushed around by a lot of sweaty people, saw pyrotechnics, watched a fake murder, witnessed a flag burning and got doused in paper and gold confetti. What a show :)
