Sakon Shogen Nagamitsu has a regent hairstyle and an attitude to go with it: he insists that one day he will be shogun. For some reason, he has a habit of seeking out and attacking samurai who wear glasses. Jin’s glasses, a rare item, are pawned for money so the group can eat. At the restaurant, they run into Nagamitsu. Nagamitsu is smitten by Fuu and won’t take no for an answer when he asks her out on a date. Fuu is not the only one getting attention—-Jin and Mugen are set upon by the gorgeous Budokiba. They leave with her, and Fuu heads to the spot chosen for her meeting with Nagamitsu.

Trying to impress her, Nagamitsu says that he is searching for the man who killed Mariya Enshiro, the head of the Muju Shinken Sword Fighting School. He has heard this man is named Jin and that he wears glasses. Meanwhile, Jin and Mugen have more than just a little buzz as they are drinking wine from the West, a forbidden item. Budokiba has laced it to get them drunker than usual.

The next day, as you can imagine, they find their possessions stolen and Fuu must chide them. The three try to make money through street performance, and by the afternoon they have enough to buy back Jin’s glasses. But when they arrive, they find that someone else is already there showing interest. Nagamitsu has arrived in his pimped-out palanquin with his posse. Putting his glasses back on, Jin becomes the focus of their attention. Nagamitsu’s man Bunta Ogura jumps to attack—something understandable, since he was formerly a student at the Muju Shinken School. He attacks to avenge his teacher, but he’s no match for Jin.

Once the dust settles, Nagamitsu is dragged home by his wife Budokiba, whose real name is Osen. Before she leaves, she gives Fuu a piece of advice: all men are fools, so be sure to keep them under your thumb. After Nagamitsu and the others are gone, Mugen realizes that they had completely forgotten about getting their money back.
